My first entrepreneurial venture failed. My second one was recognized as one of the fastest growing new companies in Utah four years in a row. The rest of my career has focused on being part of the leadership team of fast-growing and entrepreneurial companies. Signal Peak Venture has included me on their v100 list a couple of times, which recognizes the top 100 Venture affiliated Entrepreneurs. I even earned an MBA from the University of Georgia in entrepreneurship and finance.

I put myself through undergraduate school at BYU by working at Fidelity Investments, trading just about every type of financial security and derivative imaginable. That background spilled over nicely into the rest of my career, which includes helping a start-up grow to over $100 million in annual sales, helping a medium-sized company almost triple its operations, and being recognized as a top manager in a Fortune 500 firm. I have helped raise millions of dollars in debt and equity financing, and I have also lead mergers and acquisitions and buy/sell transactions for several companies. In 2012 I was recognized by Utah Business as CFO of the Year.

I wrote a book that uses a business novel, or allegory, format to teach entrepreneurs how to use finance, accounting, and general business principles to improve their cash flow and profitability. It's called Impact Your Business: An Allegory of an Entrepreneur's Journey to Clarity, Cash Flow, Profit, Family, and Success.

In addition to financial roles, I have also been asked to lead organizations in the roles of CEO, President, COO, Director, and more. I have and will continue to be a student of leadership and its best practices. Utah Business recognized my leadership capabilities when they included me in their Top Forty Under 40 list.

I love to bike, road cycling primarily. I recently overcame my fear of open-water swimming and past running injuries to compete in a couple of triathlons. I look forward to many more.

I am happily married. We have seven amazing children.

I'm a Mormon. I served a full-time mission in Montreal, Canada (I got pretty good at French while I was there). I earned a business degree from BYU. I love to serve in my church and the Boy Scouts of America.
